How do anthropologists differentiate culture from non-human animal behavior?
They study all human societies. If it isn’t universal, it is probably not non-human animal behavior. They also have a few examples of children who were terribly neglected with very little cultural influence. They study our closest relatives the chimps to see what behaviors we share. Mothers and babies are studied and it is observed what behaviors are picked up by the child.
