How do animals help disabled people?

0

I have a disability and a service dog. My right leg is significantly damaged from arthritis and muscle atrophy. I also have arthritis in my hips, spine and hands. So, my balance is very off, and I often drop items. And because of balance, I often can’t bend down to pick things up. I have had a service dog for 10 months. Before my service dog, I would often fall. I have a hard time gripping a cane because of the arthritis in my hands and for me using a cane lacks the stability I need. My dog gives me the stability that I need. She is able to retrieve items that I drop so that I don’t risk falling. I have many friends with service dogs. I know several people who have dogs that alert to seizures up to an hour before they have a seizure. I know a few dogs who alert to their diabetic owners rising or falling blood sugar levels. I know people with service dogs who have visual and/or hearing impairments. I know people who have certain cardiac disorders that cause rise and falls in blood press
