How do Americans clean windows and hard wood floors?
I just hire Merry Maids. I think people that do it themselves, clean the windows from the outside and there is polish for wood floors. You might check with a store that sells hard wood floors and ask them what kinds of polish they suggest. Probably the vinegar is what is making the floors look dull in the first place. I would stop using it.
For the windows, theres no easy way, either clean them from the outside our take the window out and clean it. For a streak free shine, use newspaper instead of papertowels, it works much better For hardwood floors I just use a bucket of water, a sponge, and hardwood floor cleaner, or hardwood floor shiner, or wax. I prefer sponges instead of mops, since getting on my hands and knees to clean the floor gets it ALOT cleaner that using a mop.
Well you can use Windex spray for your windows and as for the hardwood floors you should go to a home center and buy special cleaner for those delicate floors. Like a lowes or a homedepot will carry good hardwood floor cleaner just as the person who works in that department and then tell them what kind of floors you will be cleaning. Also if there that bad you could have them refinished. Professional people will come to your home and sand the floors raw and then refinish them. It can be pricy though but its worth it! An area rug can also be put down to cover up the floor as a quick and temporary solution.
