How do Ambulance Service employees feel about First Responders?
I personally have no problems with them. Anything that helps in an emergency is a good thing no? I have used First Responders occasionally to help me when I’ve got someone really ill on board – extra pair of hands always useful. I know mananagement love them because it provides an extra resource which can lower response times and help achieve government standards. However, I know a lot of staff who can stand them. I only assume its because they feel threatened. First resps only have limited training, but I still feel that when needed – every pair of hands is a godsend.
