How do a create a Mid-Measure Repeat?
A. You can’t, but that having been said, here is a good work-around. For example, we’ll create a 4/4 measure and place the repeat between beats 2 and 3. First, create two measures of 4/4. Click on the Time Signature Tool and then click on the first of the two measures. Once you are in the Time Signature dialog box, set both measures to 2/4 and click the Options button. Place a check next to Different Time Signature for Display and set the time signature to 4/4. This will display your 2/4 measures as a single 4/4 measure, with a barline in the middle which can be changed to a repeat sign using the Repeat Tool. The beauty of this work around is that your note spacing and playback will function properly. Be aware though, if you have measure numbers, you will need to create a second Measure Number Region to account for the extra measure. Q.
