How do 360 multi-rater feedback assessments work?

0

360 feedback, usually obtained through a survey process, provides employees with information about how they are perceived in the workplace. Most often it will include direct feedback from an employee’s subordinates, peers, and supervisor(s), as well as a self-evaluation. It can also include, in some cases, feedback from external sources, such as customers and suppliers or other interested stakeholders. Because of its speed, flexibility and simpicity, most people take 360 surveys on the web. Participants and raters click on a link (either on the company website or in an email invitation) and are taken into the survey site, where they can answer scaled questions and leave anonymous comments.  360 results often form the foundation of follow-on leadership coaching and development.

Multi-rater feedback involved people (respondents) selected by the client to provide feedback on criteria established by the coach and client. Many criteria can be selected including leadership, communication, listening skills, various people skills, organization, empowerment, etc. This is an anonymous process so respondent comments and ratings are never known. It provides an excellent basis for establishing goals.Six months to one year after the first assessment, the client may desire to have the assessment repeated to measure progress.
