As of October 2007, the department has 44 Ph.D. students. Of these, 13 are citizens of the US or Canada. The rest come from a variety of countries around the world, including Bangladesh, Greece, China, Colombia, India, Italy, South Korea, Iran, Iraq, and Poland.
