How difficult is it to get into the PhD program?
It’s probably more difficult staying in the Ph.D. program rather than getting into it. But entrance depends on prior work experience, your knowledge of MIS as a field, your GMAT scores, your publications, grades in previous school, your area of research and probably the fact that some faculty is doing research in the area you are interested in. Your interaction with the department counts a lot.
