How different is the structure of the M.A. as opposed to the undergraduate degree?

A. The first semester can be a bit disorientating as it gives the student a much wider scope for independent and lateral thinking – it is sometimes hard to ‘follow your nose’ when you are unsure what direction your nose is meant to be facing. It does challenge many of the ideas that are fostered over the three years of undergraduate study. It may be disconcerting at times and even frightening but is it without doubt refreshing.
