How different is the musical Wicked different than the book?
I would read the book to get a deeper insight into the musical but I don’t recommend it. It sort of destroyed my faith in the musical a bit because it’s really sad. Nothing works out the way you want it to. Fiyero dies. Elphaba dies. Boq marries someone else. Glinda marries someone else. Fiyero and Elphaba have to have an affair because Fiyero is married. Doctor Dillamond is killed. Nessa has no arms in the book as opposed to being in a wheelchair. The wizard is not Elphaba’s father. The book has much more detail. But the musical is so much better.
