How did you work with game maker Ubisoft on the Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs video game?
Philip Lord: Basically, we were able to use a lot of the same digital assets in the game that we created for the film. And our production designer Justin Thompson worked heavily with Ubisoft to make sure the look of the game really closely matched the look and feel of the film. [It was a] really nice thing to be able to actually take a CG-animated film and deliver a videogame that has a bunch of animation in it. We were able to cross-collateralize all that stuff and make the video game look as cool as the movie looks. Chris Miller: I’m incredibly impressed on the level of art direction that’s been going on in video games now. And now that the graphic rendering ability is up there, so that it can look almost real. If you’ve seen games like Prince of Persia or Bioshock, those are games that have an amazing amount of beautiful art direction.
