How did you use to get karma before the one-a-day system was implimented?
Let’s see… When karma was introduced it was on the 1/day basis with the only requirements being “you have to log on once in a 24 hour period and have posted once that day”. There was also a very short lived rule that gave you karma based on how many of your marks got handled in the queue. Basically, you marked something and if it got deleted you gained karma for it. This incited a whole flood of marks about very petty things and was basically more trouble than it was worth, so it got nixed within 6 hours.
