How did you organize the George Enescu Festival throughout its entire 20 years of existence?
I am very happy and proud that this festival began to be a festival for all the political parties. During the 20 years I had been organizing this event, the politicians understood that this is not a festival of one party but thats a festival of the Romanian people, especially because the money financing the festival comes from peoples taxes to the state. During all these 20 years the festival became step-by-step an important event for the Romanian people and also for Romanias image abroad. This is another goal we have. We are the guilty one for the current image Romania has in the world because our cultural identity was not so clear for everybody. When we organize the festival we are bringing up to 4,000 people to perform and at the same time they visit Bucharest and other Romanian cities. But we also need to promote Romania and I think the festival should be put as a top priority cultural activity, as it is considered to be one of the most important festivals of its kind in Europe.
