How did we decide on an Automated Parking Garage System?
Our team first got the idea of working with the Wii – remote or unofficially the Wiimote from one of our previous ITT Technical Instructors. Our instructor briefly mentioned how the Wii Gaming system worked and this sparked immediate interest for one of our team members, Surarchet aka “Art”. Art took the initiative to learn more about like how the Wiimote is built and what components it contained, what communication technologies it used, and how he could customize the code to adapt it for our Capstone Project. Art’s initial research on the internet turned up many examples of others trying to customize the Wiimote technology. He was able to find free online software and a list of hardware components that would be needed to begin a project. Now that we had an electronics and communication technology we wanted use for our Capstone Project we needed to find an application.
