How did Usher launch his music career?
The R&B/pop musician Usher Raymond was born on October 14, 1978 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. When he was 12, his family moved to Atlanta, where Usher began to sing in a church choir. The talent he showed there led to him entering a talent show at age 14, where he was spotted by a La Face record executive who invited him to audition for the company’s co-founder, L A Reid. Usher was signed to a recording contract and released his debut album, Usher, which was co-executive produced by Sean “Puffy” Combs (now known as P. Diddy), in 1994. While achieving only moderate success, this exposure gave the young Usher the lift he needed to move forward.
