How did Tune in Tokyo come about?
Tune in Tokyo first started about a year ago when I met the DJ/producer, Paul Brandoli. We got together, I played him a few of my original songs and he played me a couple of his, and we just thought it was a music match made in heaven. We wrote the song ‘Dreamer’ straight off the bat, and people loved it, the record label loved it. We honestly didn’t know how much support we would get for the track. Where did the band’s name come from? In the movie Girls Just Want to Have Fun, there’s a bit when they’re at a party and one of the characters yells out “tune in Tokyo”. We just thought it was really funny. What was it like shooting the video clip for ‘Dreamer’? It was amazing. Really, really fun. I’ve always wanted to do a performance video. I really wanted to have dancers and create something fun. So the director and I came up with a concept about being someone different, thinking outside the square of your daily life.
