In World War 1 many of the soldiers had to stay in trenches for long periods of time. With the rain and rotting corpses disease happened often. Trench Foot was just one of the many diseases. Trench Foot would literally rot the soldiers feet, it was very painful and could lead to other diseases. Many soldiers were literally eaten alive by the rats taht inhabited teh trenches, they were also killed by the gas that ended up settling in the trenches after warfare and most of the gases we’re detectable. the soldiers were blow to pieces by bombing and gunfire beasue they were pretty much like sittign ducks in the trenches.
