as the centuries have gone by, the most important differance is that the English educated a small percentage of natives very well–so well that they worked in high levels of the viceroyal government.the other european colonizers may have educated many more people-but only to an elementary level..the impotance was seen when independence was give,,because the english natives could govern themselves
