How did the Towers Gang Community Partners come about?
It all started over 20 years ago as a simple backyard BBQ amongst childhood friends at the residence of Bruno and Marisa Malfara. Some years ago it was requested by the Malfaras that the attending guests make a token donation to the SickKids Foundation. Eventually we out grew the backyard, and in 2007 we moved our BBQ and picnic event to a larger outdoor park facility. To date, we have raised over $ 153,000.00 which has gone directly to the SickKids Foundation!! This fantastic event has become increasingly important, as it not only provides the SickKids Foundation with much need donations, but it also brings awareness and reminds our community of the impact that they can have by simply coming together.
