How did the T-rex become extinct?
Some say it was the tragic death of Marc Bolan, born Marc Feld in 1947, and who died in an automobile accident on September 16th of 1977 just two weeks before his thirtieth birthday. Marc Bolan was the leader and co-founder of Tyronnosaurus Rex which he formed with Steve Perigrene Took a duo that began as a “psychedelic folk rock band” and evolved into a “glam rock” band when Bolan bought himself a vintage Gibson Les Paul electric guitar. He then replaced Took with band member Mickey Finn, eventually wrote the song, “Ride a White Song”and T-Rex became an overnight sensation. With the release of “Electric Warrior” in 1972 his hits “Metal Guru” and “Telegram Sam” both became number one hits on the British charts, preventing Elton John’s “Rocket Man” from ever rising above number two.
