How did the script come about – did the kids contribute?
There are few plays written for kids. They’re either very short – 30-minute plays – or need 60 kids onstage because they’re a school production. Apart from collections by Sai Paranjpe and Poile Sengupta, everybody adapts Western stories or Panchatantra tales. So we used a short play the director Abhishek Saha already had, and roped in a writer, Akash Mohimen, to make it a full-fledged script keeping the idiosyncrasies of these eight kids in mind.
