How did the Rose Revolution affect the evolution of tourism in the country?
I was in Batumi last week and I was amazed. It is a dynamic city not only because of the things that government is doing but also the due to the attitude of people. They are very hospitable. I would divide this period in two parts in terms of evolution: it became more dynamic after the Rose Revolution than it used to be before. There have been sweeping political changes, and as we became an independent country after the collapse of the Social Union, now we try to have our position as a democratic country in a democratic world. And during this last two or three years we did much for integrating the country in the world society. Do you see the promotion of Georgia now? Sure, we see it and it is a multi-level promotion as it is not on the level of governmental or private sector only. For instance, Department of Tourism and Resorts of Georgia is doing much to promote the country and it is now participating in many international tourism exhibitions.
