How did the red panda get endangered?

0

The Red Panda about the size of a large cat, known for it’s shinny red hair, is temperate to the forest of the Himalayas. It ranges in habitat from Nepal to China and India. Estimates put it at 11,000 to 20,000 in numbers and is illegal to hunt or kill. It’s diet consist of bamboo, and may also eat eggs, birds, insects and other small mamals. It’s population is decreasing mainly due to habitat loss and fragmentation, poaching and inbreading depression. I found this info by going to Dogpile and typing in red panda, among the sites listed I found Wikipedia very useful in writing this answer.

Red pandas are endangered, victims of deforestation. Their natural space is shrinking as more and more forests are destroyed by logging and the spread of agriculture. For more information about the red panda see this web site from National Geographic.
