How did the propaganda in Nazi germany help Hitler have such great success?
AFter WW1, Germany lost its factory area, the Ruhr, plunging it into a horrible depression. The time was ripe for someone to come along and unite everyone with a gripe against something. Hitler was that person. By promising wealth again, and calling for the unity of the German people (who were scattered across several nations) and beginning his rhetoric against the so-called “source” of all Germany’s problems, the Jews (whom he taught controlled the League of Nations and the banks), he unified the nation. We have had a similar attempt in Australia (it failed, fortunately) under an extreme right-wing leader called Pauline Hanson. She built a One Nation Party based on every gripe she could possible find, and focussed on Asians as the source of Australia’s problems. She had a lot of support from grass-roots Australia, but not enough to put her into real power. She has now self-destructed.
