How did the Nazis control German Society?
1. By declaring common but ambiguous enemies, they made everyone afraid of some other group. A divided society cannot resist oppression. Those that fear others do not join, or even talk with others. They turned Germans into a society of solipsist moral midgets, the first modern “Me Generation”… 2. They seized control of media and made sure every one got the message. You were Hitler’s or you were verboten. Adolph is called by historians “The Father of the Modern Political Campaign”… waged with media, radio at the time, tv today, those that seek power seize first the common mind that is represented by media. 3. After a while (not long at all), they were able to get children to turn in parents, people turn in their neighbors… and all in the name of being kept ‘safe’ from those that would harm German society. Sound familiar? Hmmmm thumbed down for an accurate and well read answer. Hope I didn’t offend our home grown variety…
