How did the Mormon religion start?
All of this history started with the simple prayer of a young man named Joseph Smith. With a religious revival in the area where he lived, Joseph became more and more concerned about his salvation and standing with God. He realized that there was great confusion and disagreement between the different churches which preached in his area. After diligently studying the Bible, Joseph decided to pray to simply ask God which of the many churches he should join. In response to that prayer, God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith. He was called to be a prophet, bring forth the Book of Mormon and restore the Church of Jesus Christ to the earth. How has the Mormon religion grown? In 1830, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints held its initial meeting with just six members. Since that time, the Church has continued to grow and spread throughout the world.
