The internet is THE conduit for getting information out to the masses. Anyone, especially with the existence of sites such as facebook, twitter, myspace, can create content and get it uploaded to the web in seconds. Compare to when there wasn’t the internet. How could YOU tell an unlimited number of people why you think that Eggs came from outer space? Answer is you couldn’t. But if all of a sudden you and all of your friends start putting that idea out there with some likely made up evidence the word would spread. Slowly at first, but building up momentum. It wouldn’t take long before people stopped eating eggs, since “Everyone knows they are from outer space”.
