How did the holocaust change history?
It was far from the only genocide in history, although one of the, if not the worst of all times. But it made people aware. “Never Again” is the cry of the survivors, of course there have been other genocides since, as recently as the 90’s in the former Yugoslavia and Rwanda among and even to this day in Darfur. But it has made people aware and there are international agencies and governments try and cooperate to stop things from happening. Israel is probably a result of the genocide in by the Nazis and persecutions and genocide by the Communists in the Soviet Union and other countries. For good or bad, depending on your stand on Israel, it had a lot to do with it, and Israel in turn has influenced the world a great deal in the last 60 years. Jewish people are more accepted, I don’t know if that is a result of the Holocaust and people’s awareness of antisemitism, or if it is just a more open society. There is still antisemitism in the US, but I don’t think it’s like it would have been
