How did the Greeks move massive blocks of marble/limestone to build their temples?

There’s two theories that I know of, the first is they would push the giant blocks over mud, with the right mixture of mud it’s like pushing the giant stones on ice. The second and more probable is that they had a bed of round logs that they rolled the stones on, taking the ones from the back and putting them in the front as the stone rolled along. Hope these help.

To quote one of my favourite literary characters, “Massive, massive whips!” Dave Lister, Red Dwarf.

You are forgetting the Greeks had Archimedis and Philon before him, there is little they did not know about the lever ,the fulcrum ,pneumatics the screw, moving large objects was small beer to them only a little harder than for us exept there power was deliverd by slave labour ,
