How did the government solve pollution after world war 2?
Nothing. The US government wasn’t concerned with air and water pollution in the 1940’s. In fact the US and the USSR tested nuclear weapons in the atmosphere till 1963, France till 1974 and China till 1980. The US made about 330 tests in the atmosphere. So the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki did not make much of a difference in worldwide nuclear-waste pollution. Surprising as it may seem to anyone under the age of 60, the EPA was established only in 1970 (same year, btw, as the Ohio National Guard killed four people and wounded nine in a war protest at Kent State; Hendrix died; the first NYC Marathon was run; and the Beatles released their last album together).
