How did the giraffes evolve to have long necks?
Giraffes developed long necks as a course of sexual reproduction and courtship says a new study based on fossils and observation of Giraffe behavioral pattern . The phenomenon accredited to the mating of giraffes known as NECKING in which the male herds compete for mating and the male with the longest neck gets to mate with females leads to the genetic transfer of long neck genes to the offsprings . The theory of darwin and lamark based on natural selection have been proved to hold a weak ground as the giraffes eat mostly from low branches and also during summers they feed on grasses.
