How did The Garden Slug come about?
We were all Starbucks store managers/supervisors at one point or another and that’s how we got to know each other. 2. We wanted a name that doesn’t pigeonhole us. For example, if we had called ourselves “The Red Cafe” we’d forever be labelled as a cafe. By calling ourselves The Garden Slug (which doesn’t really mean anything), we are free to diversify and expand into anything we wish. Also, we wanted a quirky name that people would wonder and ask us about. This proved to be a great ice-breaker in our early days (and even till today). When people come up to us and ask “Why The Garden Slug?” it gives us a chance to talk to them, crack some unfunny jokes and the relationship begins from there. 4. The Garden Slug
