How did the french clergy see cardinal richelieu?
No one, including French clergy really liked him because he was very despotic. But he was smart and dedicated his life to French royal power. He also recomended cardinal Mazarin as queen Anne d’Autriche adviser. People hated Mazarin too but he helped a lot queen Anne by keeping the throne for her child who became later Luis XIV, one of the most important and powerful kings of that time.
