How did the French and Indian War change the relationship between Britain and its colonies in America?
The French and Indian War was just the latest in a series of wars with the French that went back to King Williams War (The War of the Leaue of Augsburg) – 1688-1697, Queen Annes War (The War of Spanish Succession) – 1702-1713, The War of Jenkins Ear 1739-1740, King Georges War (The War of Hapsburg Succession) 1740-1748. These were all [preludes to The French and Indian War (The Seven Years War) 1754-1763. These wars had two names because, for the most part, they were fought over some problem in Europe that did not really concern Americans too much, except for the fact that it always seemed to bleed over the Atlantic and cause hardship. Hence, America usually named them after whatever Monarch got them into the fight in the first place.
