How did the floods impact on infrastructure?
The floods were so severe that Mythe water treatment works near Tewkesbury flooded and the site was shut down in the early hours of 22 July. Many homes in Gloucestershire were without water for several days. Electricity supplies were also under threat in Gloucestershire, as the switching stations at Walham and Castle Meads became vulnerable to rising floodwaters.
