How did the fall of the roman empire affect europe?
Rome fell to barbarians who created their states such as the Frankish and Ostrogothic kingdoms. However, most of the barbarians destroyed much of the Roman culture. The cities through out the empire were being constantly sacked and their culture buried with them. Europe fell into a period jnownas the dark ages. Rome’s inheritence was, however, kept alive in the clergy and some barbarian kings such as Clovis Meroveh.
