How did the Enigma Machine change the outcome of WW2?

0

The Enigma machine was thought by the Germans to be completely indecipherable. This enabled them to communicate top secret information, certain in the knowledge that it was safe from their enemies. Unfortunately for them, the top brains incarcerated in Bletchley Park managed at last to decipher the code. This was kept secret from the Germans, but enabled British military strategists to have access to top German secrets. It was crucial not to allow the Germans to realise that the Enigma code had been cracked, so all sorts of counter-intelligence ruses were devised, including some minor losses and defeats that were planned, which allowed the Germans to believe their Enigma machine had not been deciphered by the enemy. With this information, the Germans lost the advantage of surprise, and so for important battles, the British were ready for them.
