How did the Emancipation Proclamation affect the North and South?

0

The Emancipation Proclimation affected the North and the South in more than one way. The South had to let all of their slaves free which lead to a decrease in plantations, factories, and such, and the North didn’ have to worry about returing slaves to the South just to be treated like the dirt they were tending to. The slaves were now set free to do as they please, but, they didn’t know any other life than working for the white man, so many continued working for their former owners. More of the white men had to work in the fields and factories because many slaves chose to live on their own. I hope I answered your question!
