How did the culture of Woodstock 1969 differ from the cultures of normal life?
Woodstock, as you probably know, was a very famous concert / gathering that took place during the 60s. During the era, liberalism, mostly in young people [teenagers, early 20s] was the norm. Keep in mind that the whole nation was not hippie – it was mostly young people. The era was very extreme compared to other eras [especially since the 50s were so conservative]. Culture of the 60s included Rock and Roll (Elvis, the Beatles, etc), smoking drugs (which was not illegal at the time) and a very liberal view of sex. [Once again, keep in mind that not everybody thought/acted like this!] But the idea is that the 60s were a time of freedom (maybe a little too much freedom!) and rebelling. {Some of this came from the war in Vietnam, while other influences include parental influence and conservatism from the earlier decade.
