How did the cotton gin change southern life?
When the cotton gin was invented, the slave labor increased immediately. Although you would think it would make it easier on them, it made it harder. Because of the push for cotton during that time period, the slaves had to pick more and more. That also goes for the economy. The price for the cotton went way up, causing people to loose all of their money.
