How did the Community Services Council (CSC) and enVision.ca collect the information for this online directory?

0

In the past, the Community Services Council published a directory listing approximately 1,500 non-profit organizations throughout the province. This directory, last published in 1998, served as a starting point for the online directory that currently lists approximately 4,000 organizations. A seminal piece of research carried out in Newfoundland and Labrador by CSC, titled Values Added, included a survey of 329 organizations, 8 regional roundtables involving over 200 participants, a provincial symposium with voluntary community-based organization leaders and federal and provincial government personnel and an analysis of registered charities and non-profits in Newfoundland and Labrador. This project has led to a series of action plans and a significant database of organizations in all regions. Updated information from this database serves as our enVision.ca online directory.
