How did the City Council’s decision on September 26th impact the progress of the Streetscape project?
The motion passed by City Council on the 26th provided a budget framework to guide the remaining detailed design work leading up to construction of the project. The motion did not appropriate or allocate funds for the project and did not preclude further discussion of funding strategies. The City will continue to examine all of the possible funding mechanisms for the project (grants, Local Improvement District (LID), bonds, etc.). Contributions from any of these sources will support the repayment of funds borrowed to complete the streetscape project.
