How did the Celebration Iowa Singers & Jazz Band start?
The program was founded in 1983 in the midst of the farm crisis by Dr. Dennis Darling and Dr. Judith Bowstead Nye, both of Luther College. The program was a gift to the state of Iowa during those difficult times. It reflected the quality of Iowa’s high school music programs and showcased one of the state’s greatest assets—talented and educated youth.
