How did The battle of the Alamo contribute to Manifest Destiny?
The Battle of the Alamo did little contribute to the Manifest Destiny doctrine for three reasons: 1) The Battle was fought by Mexican Army forces against forces of the Provisional Government of the Texas Republic, not the United States. 2) Texas lost the battle. 3) Sam Huston used siege and subsequent massacre at the Alamo to inspire his troops, but it was his planning and tactics that won the Battle of San Jacinto, which effectively won independence for Texas.
