How did that lead to becoming a financial advisor?
Eventually I had climbed the Ladder of Success high enough that I could see it was leaning on the wrong wall. The greatest satisfaction I derived from my work was not my own personal success, but it was in training and developing others. As a manager I knew my own success was the natural result of their success. Eventually I got really tired of all the travel my job required. As I thought more about it, by then I had developed a strong appreciation or passion for personal money management, I also knew I wanted to help others who were experiencing what I had gone through, so it really was a natural progression. Most Advisors focus on investments, your focus seems to start with debt…why? My desire was to help people who were going through what I went through. What I soon realized was that they don’t have any money to invest. Just like me, their money was going towards debts. Advisors focus on the wealthy and shun the working class.
