How did slavery increase tension between the North and the South?
Slavery increased tension between the North and the South because the North was strongly against slavery. The North had abolished slavery and did not want it to continue in any form. However the South relied heavily upon slavery for its free labor and hard workers, which gave them a very prosperous economy and a stable way of life.
