How did slavery get abolished?

Oficially, the 13th Amendment to the US Constitution, although I’m sure you’ll hear that the Emancipation Proclamation did it. That only outlawed slavery in states that were in open rebellion during the war. Considering the Union and Lincoln didn’t control those states, it wasn’t very effective.

If you are talking about slavery in america, which im pretty sure ur talking about, it all happened because of CIVIL WAR. North wanted slavery to be abolished, south didn’t. They went into a war with each other and North won. slavery was abolished but the disincrimination still remained. The civil rights movement changed that. All civil war did was end Slavery but infact most african americans were still treated like slaves and were not given equal rights until The Civil Rights movement which granted them equal rights in public places and later on The Voting Rights Movement which gave them right to vote.
