How did sheep get shorn in oldern and prehistoric times – with what?

I would imagine during the prehistoric age, a sheep would have its wool removed with a knife of some type, likely made from a bone and sharpened with a rock. Probably about two hundred years ago, the farmers would have used some type of scissors to remove the wool. This is just a guess using common sense about the tools that would have been available during those times. I could not find any information about these time periods on the internet.
