How did Scipio Africanus know to defeat the elephants with loud noises?
First off, how dare you question Scipio and his greatness! The Dark Continent was named after this ingenious man! But I’m guessing it was either first hand knowledge of him having fought elephants before, it was shared knowledge between Roman military leaders from men who had fought elephants before or at the very least it was an amazing experiment of “guess and check”.
