How did saintpatricks use the shamrock?
The legend goes that Saint Patrick used the shamrock to explain the concept of Trinity, three in one. Each leaf looks like a heart. So the first leaf demonstrates that God the father loves His children. The second leaf shows the love Jesus has, and the third leaf demonstrates the love of the Holy Spirit. The concept of a triune God, three in one, is what St. Patrick was trying to explain.
